Irish Festival Needs Your Help!
There are many activities at Irish Fest that are powered by volunteers. The list of jobs available are below, with a brief description. If interested in volunteering, please complete the on-line application. If you have been a volunteer in the past, a 2010 application is still MANDATORY.

Artist Merchandise You'll be selling the merchandise (cd’s, tshirts and other band stuff) from this year's entertainment lineup, how cool is that? Cash handling skills required.
Beverage Servers These volunteers will be serving alcoholic beverages to thousands of thirsty Fest patrons at one of our many service areas. This is a non-stop fast paced service area. This is one of the most popular positions at Irish Fest, shifts fill quickly. When shifts are full, volunteers may be asked to accept a re-assignment to another Fest location. Volunteers must be 21 to serve alcohol and participation in Alcohol Awareness Training is encouraged.
Blarney Buck Sellers Outgoing personalities with great cash handling skills are needed to sell the Festival currency to our patrons. Blarney Bucks are used to purchase all food and beverages at Irish Fest. Positions are available in ticket booths and roving the Fest grounds.
Wee One's Area The kids at Irish Fest have the most fun, and that's because of the great volunteers that help with these activities. Volunteers will lead kids crafts and assist with games in the Wee One's Area. This is a perfect match for youth volunteers (12 yrs and up) who want to volunteer at Irish Fest while their parents are working in another location. High school students needing to fulfill community service hours often sign up for this job too!
Courtesy Shuttle Driver Help our Fest Patrons get from their car to the front gate (on site parking spots only). You'll be the first contact for Fest Patrons... so put on a cheery smile! Providing minimal assistance to Fest Patrons into and out of the Shuttle may be required. This position begins 30 minutes prior to the opening of the Fest and finishes 30 minutes after the Fest closes. **
Cultural Village Education and learning is key at Irish Fest. If you are an "expert" on Irish history…this is where you want to be. If you want to learn about Irish history, sign up for this position and learn from others. Sharing a general introduction to the Cultural Village exhibits may be required. Volunteers will also be stamping "Celtic Journey Passports" for kids as they make their way through the Fest. Volunteers will be able sit down for the majority of the shift and may be asked take on administrative duties such as counting used admission tickets or processing Fest surveys etc.
Gate This is a great job! You get to meet everyone that comes to Irish Fest. This is a fast paced position and volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. Taking tickets, checking ID's, wristbanding and welcoming patrons are your main functions.
Green Team Help the Irish Fest Live Green! You’ll help maintain our many recycling containers and educate our patrons as to what can and can’t be recycled. Work with others as you recycle plastic bottles, cardboard from vendors and aluminum cans. Lifting and walking is required.
Parking Direct patrons to their onsite parking spots, collect parking fees and provide information. This job requires cash handling skills, standing and walking.
Raffle Sellers Move throughout the Fest, approach and sell raffle tickets to Irish Fest Patrons and other volunteers. Cash handling skills are a must. This is the perfect job for volunteers that are a natural salesperson and just can't sit still!
Site This physically demanding job begins on Tuesday of Festival week and involves lifting, walking and other physical tasks. You'll be part of the team that "builds" Irish Fest from the bottom up. Development of site infrastructure including gates, plumbing, construction skills, and use of tools are required. Work throughout the weekend handling issues as they pertain to the festival venue. Lifting and walking involved.
Tear Down You'll be free all weekend to enjoy the Fest, your job won't begin until late Sunday afternoon. Tear down continues on Monday, the day after the Fest. Lifting, walking and team work all are required.
Welcome Center Customer Service is #1 at Irish Fest. Volunteers distribute Fest programs, sell Festival merchandise and raffle tickets, stow packages, handle lost & found items and answer general questions. Volunteers need to be energetic, friendly and helpful. This is a busy job with constant activity that requires standing, cash handling skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Volunteers at Large These volunteers fill time periods or areas that may otherwise go understaffed. We are looking for flexible volunteers willing to be placed where the need is greatest.
Survey & Zip Code We want to know who is coming to the Fest! This role includes walking the Fest grounds and asking patrons for demographic information. You will have the freedom to move throughout the Fest or be stationed at the gate and catch people as they enter.
Craic Committee "Craic…means good time, party, having fun". These volunteers (21-40 yrs) will greet Fest Patrons in all of the entertainment venues, clean tables, sell raffle tickets, interact with Patrons, provide the best customer service known to man kind and generally have a good time with Fest Patrons….or other duties as assigned.
