Irish Festival Needs Your Help!

There are many activities at Irish Fest that are powered by volunteers. The list of jobs available are below, with a brief description. If interested in volunteering, please complete the on-line application. If you have been a volunteer in the past, a 2009 application is still MANDATORY.

Before completing the volunteer application please read the frequently asked questions from other volunteers.

  • • Artist Merchandise You'll be selling the merchandise from this year's entertainment lineup, how cool is that? Cash handling skills needed.
  • • Beverage Servers These volunteers will be serving alcoholic beverages to thousands of thirsty Fest patrons at one of our many service areas. This is one of the most popular positions at Irish Fest. Participation in Alcohol Awareness Training is encouraged.
  • • Blarney Buck Sellers Outgoing personalities with great cash handling skills are needed to sell the Festival currency to our patrons. Blarney Bucks are used to purchase all food and beverages at Irish Fest. Positions are located within a ticket booth and occasionally as a roving position.
  • • Wee One's Area The kids at Irish Fest have the most fun, and that's because of the great volunteers that help with these activities. Help with kids crafts & games in the Wee One's Area.
  • • Courtesy Shuttle Driver Help our Fest Patrons get from their car to the front gate (on site parking spots only). You'll be the first contact for Fest Patrons... so put on a cheery smile!
  • • Cultural Village Education and learning is key at Irish Fest. Work with this committee prior to the Festival to help research and design cultural exhibits or during the Fest in the Cultural Village. If you are interested in pre-planning, please make that note in the comments section.
  • • Gate This is a great job! You get to meet everyone that comes to Irish Fest. Checking ID's, wristbanding and welcoming patrons are your main functions. Job requires continuous standing.
  • • Green Team Help the Irish Fest Go Green! Work with others as you recycle plastic bottles, cardboard from vendors and aluminum cans. Some lifting involved.
  • • Parking Direct patrons to their onsite parking spots, collect parking fees and provide information. This job requires cash handling, standing and walking.
  • • Raffle Sellers Move throughout the Fest as you sell raffle tickets to Irish Fest Patrons and other volunteers. This is the perfect job for volunteers that just can't sit still!
  • • Set Up This job begins on Tuesday of Festival week and involves lifting, walking and other physical tasks. You'll be part of the team that "builds" Irish Fest from the bottom up.
  • • Site Work throughout the weekend handling issues as they pertain to the festival venue. Some lifting and walking involved.
  • • Tear Down You'll be free all weekend to enjoy the Fest, your job won't begin until late Sunday afternoon. Tear down continues on Monday, the day after the Fest. Lifting, walking and team work all are required.
  • • Welcome Center The "nerve center" of Irish Fest is where the action is. Patrons pick up programs, purchase Festival merchandise, raffle tickets, stow packages, lost & found and ask general questions. This is a busy job with constant activity.
